Agricultural water supplies are where Airwell first started back in 1984, at that time we developed a pump to handle the harsh and troublesome bores encountered on many agricultural properties and we have always kept a close link with the agricultural community.
An Airwell System can provide you with the following features:
24 Hour Operation
The
Airwell pump is capable of running 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, regardless of weather conditions. With low production bores, this is often necessary to produce the water that you need.
High Flow Rates
An
Airwell system is often selected where the required flow rate is in excess of that possible with conventional wind powered pumps, or where very large and expensive solar powered equipment would be required to achieve the desired flow rate.
Low Flow
There is no minimum flow that an
Airwell can pump, so you can harvest every litre the bore produces in low flow applications. Coupled with 24-hour operation, existing bores normally considered useless are often found providing significant quantities of good water.
Grit Tolerance
There are no parts in an
Airwell pump likely to be damaged by grit in grit producing bores. Obviously it is preferred that bores be constructed in such a way that grit is excluded, however, we realise that this is not always the situation and have catered for it.
Distance from Power
An
Airwell pump is typically ‘powered’ by an air compressor located close to an existing electrical outlet, with the compressed air piped to the bore. The ability to run an airline often up to 5Km away from mains power provides a realistic saving, in comparison to the large capital expense of running a power line to the bore.
Automation
Incorporating float valves on all tanks and troughs will automate the
Airwell System. When all tanks are full the system will shut down until water levels drop then automatically restart. This ‘on demand’ feature is built into every
Airwell pumping system.
Iron Oxide Bacteria
The
Airwell pump is particularly useful in bores where Iron Oxide Bacteria is a problem, and will generally operate at least 2-3 times longer than other styles of pumps before cleaning becomes necessary. However should an Airwell become blocked there is no damage to the pump, it will simply require cleaning.
Reduced Capital Cost
A large
Airwell system can be one-third the capital cost of the alternative wind or solar system.
